Winter gig news

Happy New Year.  I was going to write about my upcoming support tour with Stornoway but I made a poster instead.  Here it is:

Before then I will be down at the Southbank Centre for Nick Luscombe's Friday Tonic on the 25th of January.  I will be bringing two magnificent ladies with me.  Jess Swainson who will provide visuals and Gillian Wood who will be performing on cello. It's free fun for all the family.

Bónus Skór OUT NOW! NEW VIDEO! Gigs...

Bónus Skór is out now and available to buy on CD or download at these great record shops: Jumbo Records, Piccadily Records, Rough Trade and the Static Caravan website.

Here is a video of 'Applecart' (track four on Bónus Skór) created by Ewan Jones Morris. This man is a steak eating, camera wielding, all elements braving, bad ass wonderful being.

There are two hot gigs coming up - the last gigs of the year! The first one is the Cloud Sounds Xmas Bash in Manchester with Y Niwl and here is the poster:

and the last gig of the year will be at Kings Place in London. I have a warm tingly feeling about this gig. I will be bringing along a bunch of friends to accompany me and we're going to perform a few tracks exclusively off the Bónus Skór EP.  PLUS Trwbador  the superb welsh duo are on the bill. Bido Lito, Bónus-skór, Marc Riley, Festivals..

Greetings and salutations!

Since our last rendevous I slipped into Elevator Studios with The Bido Lito bunch and recorded a podcast followed by an interview. Thank you Bido Lito!

The EP I made with Mike Lindsay is finished and on the way to the printers! We are pleased:

The project will be under the moniker Bónus-skór. The EP has four tracks which segue way into each other with field recordings. It was mostly recorded in Reykjavik, Iceland (see last blog post) and later mixed in Benge's studio/tardis. 



Yesterday I did a Marc Riley session. You can hear it here. Also got my picture taken with Rob Hughes (right).


Next week is Green Man Festival. I am excited! Stealing Sheep will be joining me for a few tracks. To follow that will be Shambala Festival, Doune At The Rabbit Hole Festival and Moseley Folk Festival. Going to sign off for a while after that until the next release apart from Swn Festival in October.

Will report back soon with a release date for the EP and a few sweet nothings..

I had a really nICE time.

Very morose to be leaving Icelandic soil. Home of waterfalls, geysers and friendly geezers with Liver Bird tattoos. Also home to Mike Lindsay (Tunng), the man of sick beats and a sweet Jeep. We pretty almost nearly there finished an EP and with a bit of twiddling here and there, should be ready very soon. In the meantime you could idle away a few minutes by perusing my photos below.
